Appointments & New Patients FAQs
How do I request an appointment?
You can submit an online appointment request or call Renovare Chicago at (773) 417-6071. Tell us the main reason you are seeking care, and our team can help determine the most appropriate appointment type.
Do I need to know which service I need before scheduling?
No. You can contact Renovare based on the symptoms, health concerns, or treatment questions you are experiencing. Our team can help route your request to the appropriate service
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring photo identification, your insurance card, a current medication list, pharmacy information, and relevant medical or psychiatric records when available. For recent hospital or rehabilitation care, discharge paperwork can also be helpful.
Do I need a referral?
Referral requirements vary by insurance plan and service. Some patients can schedule directly, while others may need a referral or prior authorization. Contact Renovare or your insurance plan if you are unsure.
Insurance & Payment FAQs
What insurance does Renovare accept?
Renovare accepts most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Illinois Medicaid, along with many commercial and managed-care plans. Coverage depends on your individual plan and the service you need.
Can Renovare verify my insurance before the appointment?
Our team can review available insurance information before your visit. Insurance verification helps identify benefits, but it does not guarantee that a plan will pay for a particular service.
How much will my appointment cost?
Patient cost depends on your insurance benefits, deductible, copay or coinsurance, and the service provided. Contact Renovare if you have questions about expected payment or current self-pay options.
Does insurance cover telehealth, home visits, or advanced treatments?
Coverage varies by plan and service. Some services may require prior authorization or have different benefit rules. Renovare can review available insurance information, but final coverage and patient responsibility are determined by the health plan.
Behavioral Health, ADHD & Medications FAQs
What behavioral-health concerns does Renovare treat?
Renovare evaluates and treats appropriate behavioral-health concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD-related symptoms, medication needs, and other psychiatric concerns within the practice’s scope.
Do I need a psychiatric diagnosis before scheduling?
No. You can request an evaluation based on what you are experiencing. The purpose of the appointment is to understand your symptoms, history, functioning, and treatment needs before making recommendations.
Will I receive medication at my first appointment?
Not necessarily. Medication is prescribed only when clinically appropriate after an adequate evaluation. A first visit does not guarantee a prescription, controlled medication, or a particular medication.
Can Renovare continue medication prescribed by another provider?
Possibly, but continuation is not automatic. Your Renovare provider will independently review your history, current treatment, safety considerations, and available records before deciding whether the medication remains appropriate.
How does an ADHD evaluation work?
ADHD evaluation is a multi-step clinical process and is not based on one test alone. It may include symptom history, developmental information, rating scales, relevant records, and consideration of other conditions that can cause similar symptoms.
Telehealth FAQs
Do I have to live in Chicago to use Renovare telehealth?
No. Eligible patients may receive Renovare telehealth from other parts of Illinois. Patients must be physically located in Illinois at the time of the telehealth appointment.
Can my first appointment be through telehealth?
Many evaluations may begin virtually when clinically appropriate. An office or other in-person visit may be recommended when a physical examination, reliable vital signs, testing, or additional direct assessment is needed.
What do I need for a telehealth appointment?
Use a reliable internet connection and a phone, tablet, or computer that can access the appointment platform. Choose a private location when possible and have your medication list, relevant records, and requested home health readings available.
Can medication be prescribed through telehealth?
Medication may be prescribed when clinically appropriate and legally permitted. A telehealth appointment does not guarantee a prescription or controlled medication, and some situations may require additional records, monitoring, or an in-person assessment.
Home Visits & Geriatric Care FAQs
Who may be considered for a primary care home visit?
Home visits may be considered for eligible adults when medical, mobility, disability, frailty, or other health-related barriers make office care difficult. Availability depends on clinical need, location, requested service, insurance requirements, and provider availability.
Is a Renovare home visit the same as home health?
No. A Renovare home visit is a medical appointment with a healthcare practitioner. Home health is a separate category of care that may include skilled nursing, therapy, and other qualifying services.
What can geriatric care include?
Geriatric-focused care may address chronic medical conditions, medication review, falls or mobility concerns, memory changes, behavioral health, daily functioning, and caregiver concerns.
Does Renovare provide emergency house calls?
No. Renovare provides scheduled outpatient care rather than emergency-response or on-demand house-call services. For a medical or psychiatric emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
SPRAVATO® & GeneSight® FAQs
What is SPRAVATO®?
SPRAVATO is the brand name for esketamine nasal spray. Eligible adults may be evaluated for supervised SPRAVATO treatment for specific FDA-approved psychiatric indications. Treatment must follow required safety and monitoring procedures.
Can SPRAVATO be taken at home?
No. SPRAVATO is administered under healthcare-provider supervision in an appropriate certified healthcare setting, with required monitoring after treatment.
What is GeneSight® testing?
GeneSight is a pharmacogenomic test that may provide additional information to support certain psychiatric medication decisions. It does not diagnose a behavioral-health condition or guarantee which medication will work best.
How do I know which advanced treatment is right for me?
You do not need to choose before scheduling. Renovare can review your symptoms, treatment history, medications, medical factors, and goals to determine whether GeneSight, SPRAVATO, ketamine, or another treatment approach warrants consideration.
